As CEO of DataMotion, Inc., Bob Bales drives the company’s strategy and day-to-day operations. Bob brings his proven leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of technical and business strategies to DataMotion. Bob has successfully built a number of security companies from the ground up. In 1990, he launched his first company, the National Computer Security Association (NCSA), where he served as President and Chief Operating Officer. Bob formed PestPatrol in 2000, and he co-founded Exploit Prevention Labs, which joined AVG in 2006.
Mahesh is President and co-founder of DataMotion. He also served as the CEO from its inception until 2008, when he handed over the reins to the current executive team. Prior to co-founding DataMotion in 1999, Mahesh co-founded Safetynet, Inc. in 1991, a security software developer focused on military and enterprise data access control. He has been an entrepreneur since 1974 and is experienced in corporate, government and international contracts.
Bob is the architect and original developer of DataMotion’s products and services . With over twenty five years of security and software design experience, he shapes DataMotion’s product offering to anticipate customers’ needs and lead major market transitions. Previously, Bob was the lead designer and developer of Safetynet’s award-winning suite of data security products. Since 1992, he has worked closely with federal, state and industry security privacy standards, including those published by PCI, NIST, and the Rainbow Series Orange Book standards for C2 Security. Bob holds a BS in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and an MBA in Marketing from Rutgers University.
Pete oversees the development and execution of the business development and sales plans for DataMotion. Before joining DataMotion in 2008, Pete helped launch multiple companies and product lines. He served as Director of Business Development, Worldwide Channel Strategy at Computer Associates. He also helped build PestPatrol, Inc. into a successful anti-spyware company and brokered key business partnerships with Yahoo!, Dell, and CA. At TruSecure Corporation, he served as Program Manager of the Network Security group, and prior to that headed fundraising and PR functions for a non-profit charity. Pete earned his BS in Engineering at Clarkson University
Clayton heads DataMotion’s Engineering and Quality Assurance organizations. He brings over twenty years of experience in product development, product management, and corporate operations. Previously he was Vice President of Systems and Technology at Building Champions, Director of Engineering at Salu, and Director of Product Management at Corillian. He also founded and operated a software development firm for over ten years. Clayton earned his MS in Computer Science and Engineering at Oregon Graduate Institute and his MBA from the University of Oregon.
Bud Walder leads the marketing team at DataMotion, bringing 30+ years of sales, product management and product marketing experience from Brother, Intel and Dialogic. Over his career, Walder has developed deep B2B marketing expertise by delivering many successful solution and product introductions, campaigns and strategies in global technology markets. Bud holds a BA in Economics and Business Administration from Rutgers University.
Robert Pratt brings 25 years of Sales Leadership skills in Collaboration, Secure Messaging and File Sharing solutions to DataMotion. He has helped lead sales teams on both regional and national levels. As a key member of the ZixCorp, OptiSystems(acquired by BMC), he led successful sales teams toward hypergrowth in both the Eastern Region and North America. Later, at PostX he played a key role in leading the Eastern Region as VP to help build and turnaround PostX which later resulted in a successful acquisition by IronPort than immediately followed by Cisco Systems. Most recently Robert built and led the North American Field Sales Team at Accellion where his team consistently outperformed and led the worldwide effort in the acquisition of over 2,200 Enterprise Accounts and explosive growth in revenue over the past 7 years.
