DataMotion Achieves Direct Trusted Agent Accreditation Program from EHNAC and DirectTrust
Accreditation Enables DataMotion Direct Provider, Payer and mHealth App Customers to Securely and Easily Share Clinical Data with Over 1.4 Million Providers on the DirectTrust Health Exchange Network
Florham Park, NJ – December 12, 2017 – DataMotion, (www.datamotion.com) a leading health information service provider (HISP) with more than 17 years of experience in innovative secure data exchange solutions, announced today it has achieved full accreditation with the Direct Trusted Agent Accreditation Program (DTAAP) for CA (certificate authority), RA (registration authority) and HISPs from DirectTrust and the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). Direct Trusted Agent accreditation recognizes excellence in health data processing and transactions, and ensures compliance with industry-established standards, HIPAA regulations and the Direct Project.
Through the consultative review process, EHNAC evaluated DataMotion in areas of privacy, security and confidentiality; technical performance; business practices and organizational resources as it relates to Directed exchange participants. In addition, EHNAC reviewed the organization’s process of managing and transferring protected health information and determined that the organization meets or exceeds all EHNAC criteria and industry standards. Through completion of the rigorous accreditation process, the organization demonstrates to its constituents, adherence to strict standards and participation in the comprehensive, objective evaluation of its business. DataMotion’s 3rd successful EHNAC accreditation reflects its commitment to nationwide health information exchange as prescribed by the 21st Century Cures Act and to meeting the data sharing requirements of emerging pay-for-value initiatives that are transforming healthcare delivery. Accreditation by EHNAC, which recently aligned its privacy and security criteria with HITRUST, represents the highest standard of security compliance that can be achieved by providers of Direct messaging services.
“Backed by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), the Direct Trusted Agent Accreditation Program ensures DataMotion has established and upheld a superior level of trust for their stakeholders,” said Lee Barrett, executive director of EHNAC. “With the undeniable need in the healthcare marketplace for guidance and accountability in how health data is exchanged, we congratulate DataMotion’s commitment to achieving the highest standards in privacy, security and confidentiality.”
DataMotion was founded in 1999, and today has millions of desktop, tablet and mobile users that leverage its mature, cloud-based secure data exchange platform and services, many for health care applications. In the fall of 2012, the company expanded operations as a HISP and introduced DataMotion Direct. The company achieved its first EHNAC HISP accreditation in 2013, and added the CA and RA accreditation in 2014. Today’s announcement marks those accreditation renewals, and a renewed commitment to the accelerating adoption and growth of the Direct Messaging network.
“We are honored to achieve accreditation with DirectTrust and EHNAC and support the efforts of such critical entities,” said DataMotion co-founder and CEO Bob Janacek. “Meeting these superior standards is the best way to embrace true interoperability while also helping our EHR, HIE and provider partners to achieve objectives related to Meaningful Use, MACRA-MIPS, and APMs which are critical to succeeding in the rapidly transforming healthcare industry.”
